Barclays - Change Director, private clients and international 2003-2005
Jeremy Wilkes

 

Barclays PC&I was one of the five major businesses forming the Barclays Group, and included all international banking and investment management services, as well as private banking.

Appointed as the permanent Change Director, Jeremy managed an annual budget of £100m and led 150 change and programme management professionals running all significant change initiatives across this portfolio of Barclays’ businesses.  

Key achievements included:
  • turning around the financial performance of the change portfolio to meet Barclays Group targets for shareholder value
  • successfully concluding merger integration programmes, including the acquisition of stock-broking and investment management businesses
  • acting as the Programme director for regulatory programmes, covering Basel II, Sarbanes-Oxley and FASB accounting policies. This work involved delivering critical compliance outcomes against mandatory timetables.
  • improving overall team quality by implementation of performance and talent management programmes, as well as search and recruitment initiatives
  • oversight of change governance, ensuring the appropriate application of standards and reporting to Group Board against critical measures.
