Virgin Media - rapid development of new operating model enabling £200m cost reduction, leading to integrated transformational change

7days were approached by Virgin Media to determine how it could continue to dramatically improve customer service, reduce its cost base and position itself better to realise increased revenue growth.

In just 9 months, 7days helped Virgin Media achieve major transformational change, including a simplified operating model enabling a £200million reduction in cost base and an integrated transformation to allow a reduction in front line staff whilst at the same time improving the customer experience.

These significant results were achieved through a combination of the expertise and efficiency of the 7days team, and effective use of the 7days Wheel© methodology.

The outcomes were delivered in rapid timescales through use of structured interviews, facilitated workshops and culminating in a 200-person week long “lock-in” – including all senior management – to design the organisation and processes from board level down to frontline staff.

Virgin Media is now significantly better positioned for the challenging economic times ahead: improved customer service and revenue growth from a reduced, and more efficient, cost base. Critically, in the rapidly changing media industry, these improvements were delivered quickly by 7days.
